A quilt shop in Paris, France, practically next door to Notre Dame cathedrale! Nothing was further from my mind as I grew up in Michigan.
My mother made my clothes and taught me sewing, and during the long, hot Tennessee summers, my grandmother showed me the basics of patchwork and quilting. Later, these quiet occupations were not my priorities as I set out for great adventures.
After a detour via the University of Michigan and then the fashion office of Marshall Fields in Chicago, I finally arrived at my dreamed-of destination... Paris ! Fun and glamour were provided as I worked as a model in the French haute couture at such prestigious establishments as Chanel, Pierre Cardin, and Dior.
